You will be able to find the Cumberland
Lawn marked on any of the "You Are Here" maps of Regent's
Park whichever way you come from, but it is located at the North
East corner of the park, adjacent to the Outer Circle. The best
way in is through Gloucester Gate, which is found at the end
of Parkway, and is a short walk from Camden Town. Entering this
way, you need to make a left turn at the map board directly in
front of you and, keeping the children's playground on your right,
head along the tarmac path for a couple of hundred yards. A hedge
will take you away and beyond, but if you come onto the grass
just before it runs out, you will see a magnificent Willow tree
on your left. It's close to the bushes
This is the starting point for the course.
You should have with you either the scorecard, or the map
guide, downloaded from this site and printed off.
Also, a frisbee for each player, and possibly
a spare, as it's common to meet someone along the way round and
find they want to join in. See this page
for a discussion of the technicalities of good frisbee throwing,
the different types of discs and possible questions that may
arise while playing the course.
A can of beer, maybe lager or cider, for
each player will also add to the enjoyment of the game. The length
of a round is just about a beer long, if drunk economically.
But please do not litter - there are bins near the exit of the
park.
