Hole eight is another tricky one to spot.
Look towards the road and the hedge and back towards the entrance
to the lawn. About seventy yards awya there is a huge Horse Chestnut
which, like the Pine on hole six is well defended by a ring od
surrounding trees. Due to their highly acidic roots, Horse Chestnuts
create an area of devastation directly underneath them, where
not even grass grows. When you see this Dead Zone, you know you're
looking at the tree.
There's a good expanse of lawn for an
aggressive driving throw, but when you get close, try and lay
up to one side of the target. A straight attack from the front
will be fruitless due to the guarding tree ahead of you.
