THE 6th SPRING COCONUT

The week before the latest tournament was wet and windy, but on the sunday the sun came out and the conditions, although blustery, weren't as bad as they might have been.

Two new players joined the club and, although Tom managed to throw an aerobie up a tree on his first throw, it was recovered thanks to some brave acrobatics from Liz.

The long 4th and 5th holes were skipped, speeding up the playing time, and overall the players thoroughly enjoyed the game.

Cat scored a hole in one on the short 11th and Tom and Harry matched her on the final hole. They each were awarded plums for their skills.

Ben W was a worthy winner of the Men's Coconut, winning the tournament by just one shot from Tom. Cat won the Ladies' Coconut, even with the handicap of having to carry her daughter for many of her throws. Congratulations to both!

The club repaired to the Edinboro Castle for a pint and we looked forward to the Summer Watermelon at the end of August!

NOTES

James, Harry and Cat joined the game on the 3rd hole, they were each awarded a 3 for the 1st and a 4 for the 2nd.

As noted above, the group skipped the long 4th and 5th holes. After completing the 3rd hole we moved to the 6th tee and completed the rest of the new course as normal.


Harriet joined the game on the 7th hole.


The final hole was a short cross-lawn shot towards a big plane tree rather than along the edge of the path. Tom and Harry both scored holes in one here.
