THE 10th AUTUMN AUBERGINE 18th November 2012 |
The Club's 10th year of competitions came to a delightful close with a terrific Autumn Aubergine. The weather was clear and bright and the park looked gorgeous in the sunshine. In all 14 players (including two rookies) took to the lawn and a wonderful round was played. We decided to cut the trip back to the hedge for Chuch Mound and the large Horse Chestnut and threw from Red Leaner towards the Birch on the Slope via a Golden Carpet. This helped with the time of the round and for our junior players. Only one hole in one was recorded - by long-time Club member Kevin - but the competition for top honours went down to the final hole. There was one shot in it in the Ladies' match, with Toria just pipping Isabelle. The Gentlemen's game was tied and Jai and Robert W played off for the prize - Robert being victorious. We headed to the Edinboro Castle for some warm cider and a sunday lunch, and to celebrate a birthday. What a marvellous way to round out the year and roll on 2013 for many more such occasions!
