Who or what is Ben Moor?
For the purposes of this Data and Privacy
Notice, Ben Moor is a sole trader business,
providing units of entertainment services as an
actor and writer, and retailing related
products.
You may have seen or heard my work at the
theatre, on TV, Film, or Radio.
I perform live shows, and sell merchandise
online at the website http://www.spesh.com/ben.
I am not a limited company.
When might I collect your data?
In specific situations, I collect, process,
and protect and maintain your data with your
explicit consent.
I do this through a Mailing List and when a
purchase is made in my Online Shop.
I do not collect any data when you engage with
this website.
Mailing List
The main data I maintain is an Electronic
Mailing List, which I use to inform interested
members of the public about my upcoming
projects, to provide them with discounts for my
online shop, to provide an entertaining round-up
of recent events, and to recommend works by
other artists.
To join the Mailing List I always ask for, and
receive, your explicit consent:
- At live performances I may invite audience
members to join my Mailing List, if I remember.
You are invited to write down your electronic
mail address in a book that I administer. I do
not share this data with the venue, but they may
also have their own mailing list to which you
may choose to sign-up. I will later send you an
electronic mail message to confirm the
subscription.
- I have “SUBSCRIBE” links on my website. You
are invited to send an electronic mail message
to benmoorinfo@gmail.com.
I will later send you an electronic mail message
to confirm the subscription.
- When you make a purchase from my online shop,
I send an electronic mail message confirming
receipt of the purchase and invite the customer
to join my Mailing List. If I receive a reply
giving me your explicit consent to join, I then
transfer the electronic mail address to my
Mailing List. I will later send you an
electronic mail message to confirm the
subscription.
These are all OPT-IN options and are
regarded as explicit consent to join the Mailing
List, which you can choose to withdraw at any
time.
I will not ask for your full name, your
geographical location, or any personal details;
these are not recorded, and are none of my
business.
I never analyse the list to send targeted
messages; my only communications are ever with
the entire Mailing List as a whole.
I use Blind Carbon Copy addressing, so your
address is never shared with any other member of
the Mailing List.
The full Mailing List is maintained securely in
a Password Protected document and never printed
out.
The Online Shop
When you make a purchase from my online
shop, your transaction is processed securely by
PayPal, and certain data
is then sent electronically to
benmoorshop@gmail.com.
I receive your name and postal address, the
electronic mail address you used with PayPal,
and a Transaction ID, along with the details of
the items purchased, and any dedication you may
have asked me to write in a book.
I use this data at the time to communicate with
you to confirm your purchase, to inform you of
any delivery problems, to create a printed
receipt for your purchase, and to send you your
items.
I retain a record of payments for tax and
accountancy reasons (Her Majesty's Revenue and
Customs (HMRC) requires me to keep records of
contracts, payments and invoices for 7 years),
but I WILL NOT send any communications unrelated
to your purchase without your explicit consent,
and WILL NEVER send any postal communication
except the purchased items, or replacement items
if necessary.
The data regarding purchases from my online shop
is maintained securely in a Password Protected
account.
Sharing your data
I WILL NEVER SHARE YOUR DATA WITH ANY
THIRD PARTY, FOR ANY COMMERCIAL REASON. NEVER EVER.
EVER.
Withdrawal of consent
You always have the power to unsubscribe
from the Mailing List, by sending a message to benmoorinfo@gmail.com
with “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the subject line, or by
following the link included in the electronic
mail message.
But please don't expect a message back
confirming you have been unsubscribed, as I
believe that you should have the last word.
None of this "Are you sure?" or "Sorry to see
you go" or "Tell me why you unsubscribed."
That's really annoying.
It's always a bit sad when I lose someone, but I
always erase their electronic mail address the
moment I receive the message, and you will never
hear from me again.
Website information / Metadata / Cookies
I DO NOT track users to my website.
I DO NOT analyse individual visits.
I DO NOT use Cookies.
Frankly, I don't have the time and I'm not
particularly nosy. And I think you should be
able to do as you please.
However, should you click a link to an external
page through my website, you may be tracked by
that website. In which case you would fall under
their Data and Privacy Policy, and I would
recommend you investigate further.
I recommend using a VPN to protect your online
security.
Legitimate Interests
I believe that by joining my Mailing List
you have shown an interest in my work, and are
agreeing to be contacted occasionally with
information regarding my professional projects.
Commercially, this is useful to me as I can let
you know how to buy tickets for my live shows,
inform you of my upcoming screen appearances,
make recommendations, maybe make you smile a
little, and offer you – as a valued customer –
discounts on purchases, and previews of future
works.
Your Data
You can ask to see any data I maintain about
you at any time, and have it erased should you
so wish.

Changes
I reserve the right to amend this Data and
Privacy Notice without notification.
